Full disclosure
Where we make money, and where we have an interest.
This page sets out plainly where Everything Piano makes money, where it has an interest, and how that affects what you see. We would rather lay it all out here than leave you to work it out.
Everything Piano is operated by PianoSpeed London Limited, a UK piano moving and storage business. So the company running the directory also trades in the piano world. That is the single most important thing to understand about this site, and everything below follows from it.
Where PianoSpeed is the service, not a third party
The PianoSpeed group provides three things that appear as categories here: piano movers, piano storage and piano disposal. In those three categories the listing you see is our own service, because that is what we operate. Moving and storage are PianoSpeed itself, and disposal runs through the group's recycling service. Wherever our own service appears in one of these categories it is labelled "Our service" so you are never in any doubt, and the only call to action is our quote or booking. We do this so the labelling is honest and you always know when you are looking at our own service rather than an independent business.
How linking works, and why it is not even
Listings are not all linked the same way, and we want to explain that openly.
- Complementary trades get a real link. For the independent businesses that do not compete with us, listings carry a normal outbound link straight to that business's own website. That covers the 5 complementary categories: piano tuners, piano teachers, piano shops and dealers, piano parts suppliers, and piano hire. We want those businesses to get the click and the work, so we link out to them properly.
- Our own categories route to us. For the three categories where we are the service, moving, storage and disposal, the listings point to our own quote and booking, not to an outside link, because in those categories we are the listed operator and there is no third party to send you to. Event and wedding piano hire is handled by our group's own service and routes the same way.
So the linking is deliberately uneven. Independent trades get full outbound links. The moving, storage and disposal categories route to PianoSpeed. We tell you this directly rather than hide it, because an uneven link pattern only looks suspect when it is unexplained. This is the explanation.
We do not sell rankings
You cannot pay us to rank above a more relevant or better-verified business. Where a business appears in a list, and the order it appears in, is based on how relevant and how complete the listing is, not on whether money has changed hands. PianoSpeed appears first only in its own moving, storage and disposal categories, where it is the operator, and it is labelled as such.
Featured listings
In time, some businesses may pay for a featured listing, which gives their entry extra prominence. A featured listing is a paid placement and is always identifiable as one. Paying for it does not change the facts in the listing, does not buy a better ranking position in the ordinary results, and does not let a business jump ahead of more relevant entries on merit. It is extra visibility, clearly marked, nothing more.
The coverage schedule is real
On our area pages you will see a line like "PianoSpeed is in BN every Wednesday". That is not a marketing claim. PianoSpeed runs a genuine collection schedule with one set day per postcode area, the same schedule our crews actually drive, and that is why we can quote a firm collection day before you book. We tell you which day we are near you because it is a real fact about how we operate, not a sales hook. You can see it on the coverage page.
In short
PianoSpeed London Limited runs this directory and is the service in the moving, storage and disposal categories, labelled "Our service". Independent trades, the tuners, teachers, shops, parts suppliers and rental firms, get full outbound links so they get the work. We do not sell rankings. Any featured listings are paid, clearly marked, and do not buy rank. The one-day-per-postcode coverage on our area pages is PianoSpeed's genuine operating schedule. If anything on the site is unclear, ask us and we will explain it.
Questions about any of this go to smile@pianospeed.com or 020 7164 0000. See also our about page and how we list.
Does PianoSpeed provide the moving service it recommends?
Yes, and we say so plainly. Piano moving, storage and disposal are run by PianoSpeed London Limited, the same business that operates this directory. They are our own service, labelled "Our service" everywhere they appear, and the only call to action is our own quote or booking.
Are the tuners, teachers and shops connected to you?
No. The complementary trades we list are independent businesses with no commercial tie to us. Each gets a normal, dofollow outbound link to its own website, because we want those businesses to get the click and the work.
Can I pay to rank higher?
No. You cannot pay us to rank above a more relevant or better-verified business. In time some businesses may pay for a featured listing, which gives extra prominence and is always identifiable as paid, but it does not buy a better position in the ordinary results.
Is the coverage schedule a marketing claim?
No. PianoSpeed runs a genuine collection schedule with one set day per postcode area, the same schedule our crews actually drive, which is why we can quote a firm collection day before you book.
